Lost Season 4 is done. The season finale is okay but not as mind-blowing as the season 3 finale. There’s just no way to top that. The season 3 finale will give you that “just can’t wait” feeling while the season 4 finale just gives you the “oh ok so that’s it” feeling. But overall Season 4 is a solid season and for me the best episode is still the time-travelling episode with Desmond (Ep. 5).
The Man with the Whip and Fedora Hat is Back
May 22, 2008Indy is back! I’m excited since he was my favorite adventurer since my high school days. But unfortunately not all is alright with the movie. One word – aliens! Somehow I just can’t put Indy and aliens together. I like it when it’s more historical and more archaelogical. Although the action scenes are still okay. My favorite still is the Last Crusade. Maybe I just miss Henry Sr…
Congrats David Cook!
May 21, 2008We’re up early. We’re waiting for the live broadcast of American Idol in QTV. After 2 hrs. of solid performances by the top 12 and special guest stars, the winner of American Idol Season 7is finally revealed. And it’s — David Cook! By a margin of 12 million. Whoa! Congrats man! I was a fan since he sang Mariah’s Always Be My Baby. Actually, I started watching American Idol because of David Cook. Now he’s the champ, and rightly so. Rock on David Cook!!!
For Your Hot Notebooks
May 16, 2008Hot is a word that is best used figuratively. But when hot turns literal, then that’s trouble. Especially for a laptop. Now here comes CD-R King to the rescue. They have these inexpensive notebook cooling pads. You place your notebook on top of one, attach the USB power supply and you’re done. And they do work! Now you’re notebook will be cool, literally. Mine has 3 fans on it and as a bonus, 3 extra USB slots. And for only P450, it’s a cool way to cool down your notebook.

…that in a meeting room or a conference room, the attendees always leave the front row empty? So if one is late, he has a long journey ahead of him.
Forbidden Kingdom – A Dream Match-Up!
May 16, 2008
Who haven’t dreamed about a big match-up between two of the best martial artists in the world — Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Now here comes Forbidden Kingdom which ultimately fulfilled that dream. The story was simple, and I guess everyone would’ve known it already. It’s about the quest to free the Monkey King from the Warlord. And it’s up to a boy, with some help from Jackie and Jet, to do it. The fight scenes are solid and there’s a hint of a sequel. Now, if only Bruce Lee was still alive…

LRT Annoyances #2 – Crowded Exits
May 15, 2008
I really hate those trains where everyone is crowded near the doors while the middle part is empty. It seems like everyone who gets on the train prefers to stay nearer the exit. It’s the jeepney equivalent of passengers sitting farther away from the driver. Or it could be that people are jammed near the exit since they can’t get into the middle part since there are already so many people near the exit. Or do they do it by choice? Maybe somebody should set up a survey for that.
Finally, David vs. David!

…that even though malls officially close at 9PM, all the stalls are already closed or already preparing to close by 8PM! And some barbershops in malls will no longer entertain you once it’s past 8PM. And even if they did, they will begrudgingly cut your hair in record time so you could leave ASAP. Unlike in the US, wherein you could actually shop until exactly 9PM.
Fave Stores #1: CD-R King
May 14, 2008
CD-R King. This store has outgrown its name. It should now be called “All the Techy Stuff that You Need” King. I’ve been there since it was just a small store selling, what else, but CD-Rs! Those were the days when DVD-writers were still costing around P15,000 and DVD-Rs are way too costly. I remember that my favorite CD-R brand back then was Philips. In fact, I have in my collection several different designs of the Philips CD-R. I’ll be scanning those and displaying them in a gallery here soon, if I find the time to do it.
But now, CD-R King is really a king in its own right. They have literally everything that your techy heart desires. They have all types of CD-Rs and DVD-Rs, MP3 players, MP4 players, headphones, keyboards, optical mice, thumb drives, cleaning kits, LCD protectors, laptop sleeves, laptop decors,
laptop bags, USB lamps, USB massagers, notebook cooling pads, mug heaters, joysticks, gamepads, Ni-Cd batteries, MMC cards, memory sticks, etc., etc., etc… They even have tripods!
The only drawback, the lines are getting longer and the salesladies are getting slower. But then again, they’re the ones who sell the stuff you want at just the right price, so there’s really no choice but to be patient as you wait for your turn to buy. Get a good book while in queue. You’ll need it!
Google Photo Screensaver – The Best Screensaver!
May 14, 2008
If you’ve got a bunch of pictures that you want to show off in a slide show screensaver, then Google Photos Screensaver is your best option. It’s easily the best software in the Google Pack collection and it’s definitely better than My Pictures Slideshow in Windows.
The Pan and Zoom Visual Effect is very, very pleasing to the eyes. And aside from your local pictures, you can even have pictures from photo feeds to be displayed as well.
Get it here: http://pack.google.com/screensaver.html
LRT Annoyances #1 – No Peeing Allowed!
May 13, 2008
If you need to pee, you gotta do it before you ride the LRT. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck with a full bladder for the entire trip. And if ever the need hits you while you’re in a station, then you’re out of luck. Since if you go to the LRT’s one and only rest room, you’ll be greeted with the “OUT OF ORDER” sign. Don’t the LRT folks use the rest room? Why is it always “OUT OF ORDER?” Or do they just put this sign to prevent you and I from using it?
2-2 for Lakers and Jazz
May 12, 2008
Whoa, can’t believe that Lakers lost to Jazz again. And right after Kobe’s MVP award. Hopefully they’ll wrap up the series 4-2 at home. My dream finals: Lakers vs. Celtics. The classic rivalry relived!
Iron Man Flies Straight to No. 1 for the Second Week
May 12, 2008
Congrats to Iron Man for being the No. 1 movie again in the box office for the second week.
Have you Noticed… #3

… that even though a landmark no longer exists, people still refer to it as though it does. case in point, Shell Maya. Although Shell Maya has ceased to exist and a new condo is being built on its former haunting grounds, when people ride the jeep they still say “Shell Maya lang boss.” Or in another case, Crispa. Crispa has been gone for a long time but people still refer to it as their destination. Well we are creatures of habit so it’s sometimes easier for us to refer to the older but more familiar landmark.
Don’t You Just Hate #1…
May 9, 2008
… slow elevators? I hate those evelators which take forever to go to your intended floor. And since they’re so slow, there’s always a buildup of people in the lobby and you feel that you’re suddenly transported to the LRT or MRT. I’ve heard a guy saying that it takes just 5 minutes from his home to the office but it takes 15 minutes to get to his floor due to the turtle-like slowness of the elevators!

Jeepney Annoyances #7 – “Deaf” Drivers
May 7, 2008
You have said “Para!” for the umpteenth time. You have knocked the roof senseless ’til your knuckles bled. But still the driver goes on ignoring you and will only stop 2 or 3 blocks from your intended destination.
It might be a case of deafness due to the noise of the jeepney or the noise from other vehicles. Or the driver might just be plainly ignoring you. Well, I don’t know and I don’t usually ask.
It’s a good thing that some drivers have remedied this situation. They have placed a rope around the roof handle bars, and this rope is connected to a bell of some kind. So if you’re stop is near, all you have to do is pull the rope to ring the bell. This works, but sadly most jeepneys don’t have these.
Iron Man – No. 1 in the Box Office!!!
May 5, 2008Wow Iron Man surely beats, not just Iron Monger, but all those other movies in the box office. It earned an impressive $100,750,000 in its first weekend alone. Got this figure from Box Office Mojo
